There was a time, that I was the one who was lost in the wilderness that Jesus left the 99 to come after. I was once that little lost sheep wandering further and further from God. In Luke 15:1-7(NLT) is the parable of the lost sheep. This is what it says, “Tax collectors and other notorious sinners often came to listen to Jesus teach. This made the pharisees and teachers of religious law complain that he was associating with such sinful people–even eating with them! So Jesus told them this story; If a man has 100 sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won’t he leave the 99 others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he will joyfully carry it home on his shoulders. When he arrives, he will call together his friends and neighbors, saying, rejoice with me for I have found my lost sheep. In the same way, there’s more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God then over 99 others who are righteous and haven’t stayed away!” I am incredibly grateful that he left the others who were on the right path to come find me, pick me up, and carry me home with him. I am glad I stopped running long enough to be picked up. My life has forever been changed through the redeeming, renewing, and restoring of my life. When I sit back and really look at how much he has refined me and is still refining me I cannot help but be thankful that he chose me to be his. He doesn’t ask for me to be perfect or polished. He just wants to me to come in all of my humanness and sit and be with him. Nothing I tell him or am feeling is anything new to him. He already knows he just wants me to share that with him.
Are you the lost sheep? Do you need Jesus to come and find you and carry you back to him? What are you waiting for? There is no better time than now. Tomorrow isn’t promised. We do not know when we will die and leave this earth. You don’t know if there is anymore time than this moment. So, stop running and turn your face to heaven and ask him to come back into your life. Repent and turn from your ways. Pick of your cross daily and follow him.
If you have never accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior there is also no better time than now. Romans 10:9-10 say, “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.” That is it. That is how you give your life to Christ. From there Holy Spirit will take over and guide you on your journey with Christ. I would say getting a bible and praying all the time is also a very good way to start your relationship. You can’t know who God is it you aren’t in your word and drawing yourself close to him.
If you are saved, my challenge to you is to share the word! That is literally our job on earth. To go and make disciples of all nations.
Have a wonderful day my friends!
