Packing Up

As I sit here packing up and cleaning my way out of a house it occurs to me that this might actually be my favorite part of my job as a house/pet sitter. I love the pack out because I get to make their house look and smell nice before they come home. I wash bedding and clean my way out so when I leave the only thing they know about me being here is that their pet was well loved and taken care of but no need to clean after traveling. It has been done for them and they can just relax the next day and get ready for work when they return. Something about that makes my heart happy. Something about that makes me smile and know that I have served my clients well. Isn’t that our calling to serve others well. In 1st Peter chapter 4 it tells us to use what ever gifts we have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace. In Colossians chapter 3 it talks about Whatever you do, work at it with all of your heart as if you are working for the Lord. God has given me so much in this life. If I can give back to him by simply cleaning a home before I leave it then it seems like a very easy offering to him. What are some ways you can serve others this week?
