Mark 16:15
And he said to them, “Go out into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”
We go to church on Sundays to worship and to get filled back up for the next week of being out in the world. Once we leave church we should be reaching out and telling people of the good news. The news of Christ and what he has done. The good news that we will have eternal life if we believe and are baptized. What he doesn’t tell us is to only witness to those who look, think, believe, and act like us. We would be missing out on telling people if we stuck to only the people who make us comfortable, who are inside our circle or know the same people I do. He’s asking us to talk to the woman on the street corner selling her body for money, because believe it or not he loves her the same as he loves you. He is asking us to talk to the homeless person who is begging for money, because he loves them. He is asking us to talk to the addict, the housewife, the banker, the woman who has gotten abortions, the man who loves pornography. A sin is a sin but that doesn’t mean that Jesus doesn’t love them and can’t change their life. That is why we are here to do a job. We are to be the light into a world filled with darkness. Who are we to cast stones when we aren’t without sin ourselves? You aren’t preaching the good news if the only people you will have a conversation with are the people who are already sitting in the church pew next to you. When you are praying start asking who He wants you to talk to. Who he wants you to be planting seeds in. Who he wants you watering their seeds. We are to be doing these things daily.
This week I have a challenge for you. I want you to talk to one person this week about Jesus. I know this can be a bit hard if you work from home or are a stay-at-home wife/husband but there is someone in your life that you can talk to. It doesn’t have to be in person or face to face. It can be in text or a phone call. Wherever you are lead God will make a way.
Hope you have a great week!
