The Way

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. ~John 14:6

Jesus tells us that if we do not know him we do not know the Father because the only way to know the Father is through Jesus. If we don’t know Jesus then we will never see Heaven or the Father. It really is that simple. If you don’t have all day everyday talks then how well do you really know Jesus? You don’t really know anyone if you aren’t willing to put in the time and the effort to get to know them. I of all people know this can be a hard task to learn. Life can be busy and hard. I have to make myself take a few minutes of periodically throughout the day and check in with him. Give thanks for the things he has done for me and to ask him to reveal himself to me in the things he wants for me. I don’t want to leave my earthly body and hear Jesus say, “depart from me i never knew you. (Matthew 7:23) I can do all the works of God here on earth and still not have a relationship with Jesus and still be turned away based on not having a relationship with Jesus. I don’t want that at all. And I am guessing neither do you if you are reading my blog. We as followers of Christ have to be putting in the time and effort to spend more time in prayer and having conversations with him in more of our day to day. Maybe its as simple as putting reminders on our phones to stop and pray for 60 seconds or even a quick thank you while things are crazy then when things are winding down for the day spend more quality time with him. Have more of those intimate moments with him. Making sure we are praying first thing in the morning (whatever time of day that may be for you). I hope some of these will help you strengthen your time spent with Jesus.
