God Is Love

~John 4:7&8~

Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

As Christians we should be so filled with love that we are set apart from non-Christians. We know God therefore we know endless, limitless, boundless, immeasurable love. We should not only be loving our brothers and sisters in Christ but those that are lost as well. Loving on the lost, bringing them to sit at our table. Our table should be full of the saved and the lost. Just because someone sins differently than you, or struggles with something that you haven’t doesn’t mean we should shun them. We should be pulling them in and loving them even more. God called us to love one another. Not love someone because they are christian or love someone who has sinned the same as me or someone whom I understand their struggle. God can use you to lead someone to him or back to him by simply loving them. Sometimes love is all it takes from us for God to take over and pull them to him.

We are simply the vessel to which he uses to witness to someone. We don’t have to know all of the words or exactly how they struggle for God to use us. God is a god of love, pure and simple love. How can we be a vessel if we aren’t already pouring love onto someone? In 1st Corinthians 13:4 it says, “Love is patient and Kind. It is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude.” How would anyone feel loved if love was actually any of these things? How can we even think that we could lead some to God if we were filled with jealousy and being rude when we were speaking to them? It would never work. Three things will last forever, faith, hope and love-and the greatest of these is love (1st Corinthians 13:13). The greatest of these are love! How cool is that? Our God is love.

This week I will be walking with a little more love and kindness with me.
